PURPOSE: To provide an easy-to-use contractive stick that is able to securely help actions such as going up and down the stairs, or standing up and sitting down. CONSTITUTION: A support arm 3 is housed in a stick main body 1 with a handle so that the support arm 3 can travel, and in a case 7 which is externally attached to the upper part of the stick main body 1, a coil spring 9 which applies rotational force to the support arm 3 so that it projects from the stick main body 1 through a gear mechanism 8 connected to a driven rack 6a formed at the support arm 3 and the gear mechanism 8 is provided. In the case 7, an engaging pin 16 is provided, and it is pressed toward the engaging position by a coil spring 17. When the engaging pin 16 is engaged with an engaged tooth 6b which is formed at the support arm 3, the stick main body 1 and the support arm 3 are fixed so that they can not travel to each other. An operation lever 19 is provided at the handle 2, according to the operation of the lever 19, rotary lever 18 is rotated through a wire 20 to rotate the rotary lever 18 to move the engaging pin 16 to the recess position. |
