PURPOSE: To provide the device which can easily and speedily obtain a block copy of a large document containing a text, vectors, and images mixedly. CONSTITUTION: This device has a means 10 which stores allocation information on the document by the constituent elements of a book, a means 12 which stores allocation information on charts and images, a means 14 which stores the sizes of index characters by the kinds of indexes, a means 20 which extracts insertion indications of the charts and images and insertion indications of indexes including the names and index kinds of data files 18 containing the images from a specified document file 16, and a means 22 which outputs control information for the insertion of indexes of the corresponding character size among the stored character sizes according to the insertion indications of indexes extracted by the means 20 by allocating the document contents of the document file 16 onto a block copy form by the constituent elements of the book by using the allocation information on the document stored, in the means 10 and allocating the charts and images stored in the data files 18 having the names extracted by the means 20 according to the insertion indications of the charts and images extracted by the means 20 by using the allocation information on the charts and images stored in the means 12. |
