PURPOSE: To attain the reduction of core loss by introducing local defects into a grain-oriented silicon steel sheet and generating the residual stress of components in the vertical direction of the face of the steel sheet. CONSTITUTION: A grain-oriented silicon steel sheet contg., by weight, 1 to 7% Si is used, and in the case the [100] bearing (the longitudinal direction of the steel sheet) in the 110}(001) structure is defined as X and the vertical [010] and [001] bearings respectively as Y and Z directions, local defects having the residual stress of components in the vertical direction of the face of the steel sheet in which strain elastic energy Ex, Ey and Ez generated on each main axis thereof satisfy Ex<=Ey, Ez are introduced therein. At this time, the residual stress within 300μm from the center of the local defect introducing part is regulated to >=6MPa. Moreover, as for the introduction of defects, a means in which magnetic energy is applyed to strain elastic energy is a preferable method, and moreover, mechanical methods, energy irradiating methods and electrical and chemical methods can be adopted. |
