PURPOSE: To realize the two-way high speed digital communication by using optical soliton without a communication error by utilizing the property of collided optical soliton waves propagated in two-ways through an optical fiber transmission line. CONSTITUTION: When the transmission is started during reception by each of communication stations 31, 32, a re-transmission request is sent to an opposite station, timing control circuits 35-1, 35-2 of both the stations make a timing of transmission start in matching with a timing of transmission restart for the execution of 2-way communication and when the transmission is finished during transmission reception, a re-transmission request is sent to an opposite station to allow one station to receive received data so far and data after that separately. When optical soliton waves collide with each other in an optical fiber transmission line 4, the position of its peak is deviated in a direction of optical axis, and a communication error takes place by receiving continuously pulses after the collision and pulses not through the collision, but it is prevented by adjusting the timing to receive the data separately. |
