PURPOSE: To produce a ceramics of a layer structure, excellent in mechanical properties such as strength even at high temperatures and oxidation and corrosion resistances and having high reliability. CONSTITUTION: This ceramics of a layer structure has a surface layer 1 consisting essentially of an oxide ceramics, an inner layer 2 consisting essentially of a nonoxide ceramics and a thermal stress relaxing layer 3, formed in the interfacial part of the surface layer and the inner layers and having the thermal expansion coefficient in the intermediate between those of both or changing the composition thereof. Furthermore, a fiber layer 4 containing one or more three-dimensionally compounded ceramic fibers is constituted in a part, etc., extending from the vicinity of the thermal stress relaxing layer of the surface layer through the thermal stress relaxing layer to the vicinity of the interfacial part of the inner layer. |
