PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for producing a print by managing a proof process for proofing stored documents when selected electronic data is present in the list of a memory. SOLUTION: When a job is received, a job identifier element is allotted thereto. When the job requires no proof approval, the job is processed so that usual job printing is carried out in a step 206 and, when the job requires proof approval, processing advances to step 208, 210 and a proof register data base is opened and segments are selected for printing. A multiple copy of some different segments can be formed by a routine. I is set to 0 and a value J showing the number of proof copies to be formed with respect to a given segment is designated. The value I is increased and data of various systems, for example, 'proofer ID', 'special desgination' and 'term day' are obtained from a system operator in order to be inserted in a data base. |
