PURPOSE: To shorten communication time without wasting recording paper by selecting plural effective images which are arranged in a main scanning direction and can be extended to a prescribed sheet of recording paper from extracted effective images and generating a composite image. CONSTITUTION: An image extraction means 3 extracts effective images from each page of the original stored in an image memory 6a. Next, an image selection means 4 selects plural effective images which are arranged in a main scanning direction and can be extended to a prescribed sheet of recording paper from the extracted effective images. An image compositing means 5 generates a synthetic image from the plural selected effective images, prints the composited image on recording paper or transmits th image to an opposite facsimile equipment. Thus, because small image data of an original is integrated, is printed and outputted on a sheet of papert or transmitted by a facimile, this matter becomes useful on a resouce economization measure. |
