PURPOSE: To electronically record only the image of an eyeground, regardless of the recording range thereof. CONSTITUTION: In the normal photographing mode of a pupil Ep for observation, a large-diameter cornea baffle 17 and a crystal body baffle 24 are respectively inserted along an optical path 04 on the operation of a CPU 51. Concurrently, a lighting field diaphragm 21 is opened and an eyeground image is observed over the whole observation field of an inspected eye (e) under illumination from an observation light source 30. In small pupil photographing mode, a cornea baffle 18 and a crystal body baffle 23 having a small diameter are respectively inserted along the optical path 04 on the operation of the CPU 51, and a lighting field diaphragm vane 21 is throttled. The surrounding area of the observation field of the eye (e) is thereby shaded for observing the eyeground within a small range. Furthermore, the CPU 51 adjusts the light quantity of a photographing light source 28 and the observation light source 30, depending on photographing mode, for adjusting frame memory capacity in an image recording device 57. When the light source 28 is made to emit light, an observation eyeground image is recorded on a photographing film 10, or in an image memory device. |
