PURPOSE: To provide an ultrasonic piezoelectric transducer which efficiently propagates ultrasonic elliptical oscillation and can embody small-sized rotary ultrasonic motors. CONSTITUTION: An ultrasonic piezoelectric transducer 10 consists of at least two electromechanical transducing elements 12; an elastic body 11 to which the electromechanical transducing elements 12 are bonded; and at least two drivers 14. The piezoelectric transducer synthesized two oscillation modes to generate ultrasonic elliptical oscillation. The elastic body 11 is formed into an arc shape, and a recess 11a is formed in at least two places on the circumfrence of the elastic body. The electromechanical transducing elements 12 are placed in the recesses. |
