OBJECTIVE LENS AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To obtain an objective lens for realizing stable optical pickup performance by canceling the astigmatism that the optical system of an optical pickup possesses in total. CONSTITUTION: This process is composed of a stage for removing the thicknesses of both ends 2a, 2b of a glass material having a circular columnar shape at the plane parallel with the central axis 1 of the circular columnar shape and working the glass material to a symmetrical shape with the plane inclusive of the central axis 1 and a stage for molding the convex objective lens by pressing the worked glass material while heating from the vertical direction of the glass material.
