CONSTITUTION: In a burner type ash melting furnace, first-forth exhaust gas control valves 14A-14B and first-forth air control valves 16A-16B that are respectively mounted on exhaust gas pipes 13 and 15 are operated by a preheating controller 17 to alternately supply exhaust gas and air to a pair of heat accumulating devices at specified time intervals, so that combustion air is preheated by a heat accumulating medium heated by the exhaust gas, and supplied to a melting burner 5. |
