PURPOSE: To obtain an optical pickup adjustment method of an optical pickup constituted in such a manner that the mounting positions of light emitting and light receiving elements are easily adjusted. CONSTITUTION: This optical adjustment method of an optical pickup includes a light emitting and light receiving device 10 having a light emitting part 13 and light receiving part 12 on a substrate and an objective lens which converges the light beam from this light emitting part to a recording surface of an optical disk and introduces the return light reflected by the recording surface to the light receiving part side. The light receiving part 12 is divided into a first light receiving element group 12a and second light receiving element group 12b lining up in the track direction of an optical disk. The first light receiving element group 12a and second light receiving element group 12b are composed of plural light receiving elements lining up respectively in the radial direction of the optical disk. The method described above includes an adjustment stage to adjust the position of the light emitting and light receiving device in accordance with the signals obtd. by a stage of making calculation in accordance with the output signals of the first light receiving element group 12a and the output signals of the light receiving elements of the second light receiving element group 12b. |
