CONSTITUTION: For instance, vertical rolls 2a and 2b are in the normal positions, and for horizontal rolls 1a and 1b, an upper horizontal roll 1a is shifted by a center shift 11 in the right direction to a lower horizontal roll 1b. At this time, the web 4 of an H-shape steel 3 is normal. However, for flanges 5a, 5b, 5c and 5b, length measuring and thicknesses are unequal in up and down and left and right. Accordingly, after rolling by a universal mill, the sectional profile of the shapes 3 is found by a device recognizing the dimensions and the shape of the shapes 3, and is collated with the previously stored profile.
