<p>PURPOSE: To produce a wire for aligning malalignment of teeth high in bending strength, hard to rust because of its excellent corrosion resistance, hard to fracture even in the case of bending because of its excellent toughness, having a bright and smooth surface, free from curls (wire curling) and easy to form and to provide a method for producing the same. CONSTITUTION: A Co-Ni base alloy, e.g. the one essentially consisting of Co, Ni, Cr and Mo and having a compsn. constituted of, by weight, 20 to 40% Cr+Mo, 20 to 50% Ni, 25 to 45% Co, respectively 0.1 to 5% Mn, Ti, Al and Fe, 0.1 to 3% Nb, 0.01 to 1% of one or >= two kinds of rare earth elements selected from among Ce, Y and misch metals is used. The wire rod subjected to cold wire drawing at 60 to 90% final working degree is subjected to straightening to form into a linear shape by a mechanical method, which is thereafter subjected to aging treatment at 500 to 600 deg.C.</p> |
