PURPOSE: To provide a current-carrying heating element by which electric power consumption is reduced and stability of a heating time balanced temperature is heightened without impairing an advantage excellent in manufacturing convenience of a manufacturing method to form a film by application and drying, and its manufacturing method. CONSTITUTION: A current-carrying heating element is composed of conductive particles formed on a base body 3 to be heated by application and solvent soluble resin to dispersively hold the conductive particles. Irradiation processing of a single kind of either an electron beam, gamma rays or ultravoilet rays is performed on this current-carrying heating element 5 in a process after it is formed. A manufacturing method is composed of a film forming process to form the heating element 5 on a surface of the base body by appling/drying paste containing the conductive particles and the solvent soluble resin to/on the surface of the base body 3 so as to connect a pair of mutual electrodes 4 and 4 arranged on the base body 3 to be heated and an irradiation process to perform the irradiation treatment on the heating element. A PTC characteristic of the current-carrying heating element 5 is improved by the irradiation treatment. |
