PURPOSE: To facilitate the generation of a composite image which is rich in variety over a wide range by providing a processing means, which generates the composite image by combining plural image data together, with a means which clears part of image data as a background. CONSTITUTION: A floppy disk drive 17 is used to save a generated combined image and read it out for print output. A CPU 11 when combining prepared image data of illustrations, etc., together performs a process for extracting overlap parts of the images with prepared extraction patterns. A ROM 12 is stored with various fixed data including the control program of the CPU 11. Here, an image storage area 12a where the image data of the prepared illustrations, etc., are stored, a pattern storage area 12b where the prepared extraction pattern data are stored, etc., are provided and in an image work area 13, the image data are put together. |
