PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new effective video storage device system which can be suitably applied to a movie-on-demand(MOD) system. SOLUTION: A digital video storage device system is provided with a plurality of disk drive storage devices 101-150 which are continuously connected to each other in a loop L1. In the loop L1, each disk drive has an input for receiving digital video data for storage and an output for supplying the stored digital video data and, at the same time, the output of each disk drive is connected to the input of the succeeding disk drive. Each of the continuous segments A-AX of a video program stored in the continuous disk drives 101-150 in the loop L1 is repeatedly moved to the succeeding disk drive from the disk drive storing the segment at a prescribed time interval. Then a plurality of taps 201-250 is connected to the loop L1 and nodes are supplied to MOD subscribers and viewers from the loop L1 for receiving the video program. |
