TEST METHOD FOR ATM EXCHANGE CHANNEL HAVING CELL COPY FUNCTION

PURPOSE: To provide the test method for an ATM exchange channel having a cell copy function in which the test time required to verify cell copy in an ATM channel is drastically reduced. CONSTITUTION: A test cell sent from an in-channel continuity test circuit 2 is looped back by a test cell loopback device in a line adaptor section L11 and each test cell in the channel is copied into N cells and (N-1) sets of test cells in the copied N-sets of test cells are recovered by the in-channel continuity test circuit 2 and the remaining one test cell is transferred to a line adaptor section L12 different from the line adaptor section L11 to loop back the test cell by the loop back deice, and the operation of copying a test cell into a multiple of N in the channel again is applied to N sets of terminals of the switch section 1 and the recovered test cells are collated in the in-channel continuity test circuit 2.
