CONSTITUTION: In the air intake device of a serially connected engine with its mechanical supercharger constituted in such a way as a mechanical supercharger 2 is arranged so that the axial line direction may be substantially parallel to an engine output shaft on the side of an engine main body 1 and intake air may be supplied to the inside of the engine main body 1 via the mechanical supercharger 2, an intercooler 3 connected to the discharge port 13 of the mechanical supercharger 2 via a main air intake passage 14 is arranged approximately above the mechanical supercharger 2.
