WATER SOLUBLE LUBRICANT FOR MEDICAL DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel water soluble lubricant for medical devices such as catheter and introduction needle. SOLUTION: A water soluble lubricant comprising silicone surface active lubricant and water is a nonionic and good lubricating liquid. The employed silicone surface active lubricant is preferably a block copolymer of polyalkyleneoxide-denaturated polydimethylsiloxane, and the lubricant solution contains solution stabilizer to make the solution transparent and the aqueous solution or antimicrobial agent for inhibiting the multiplication of microbes in the coated products. Vitamin E or its derivative is also used in the lubricant solution.
