PURPOSE: To obtain an accurate image processing result by accurately making the position of a measuring area in an input image correspond to the position of a measurement area in a model image. CONSTITUTION: A CPU 5 determines setting conditions of a measuring area based on the registered data regarding a previously registered model image. A rectangle address generator 6 outputs position data X(n) and Y(m) on the respective constituent pixels of a rectangular area matching the setting conditions to an affine transforming circuit 9 in order. The affine transforming circuit 9 is supplied with respective data on quantities Δx and Δy of deviation of the input image from the model image and the angle θ of rotation from the CPU 5, and the affine transformation of position data X(n) and Y(n) is performed by using those data. Position data AX(n) and AY(m) after the transformation are supplied to an image memory 4 and pixel data Di corresponding to the position data are read out and supplied to a feature quantity arithmetic part 8. |
