PURPOSE: To enable knowing the format and the identification code of a desired data without referring to a manual by displaying a selected parameter with the desired format while selecting an arbitrary parameter from plural parameters. CONSTITUTION: A sequencer 2 being an external device is connected with a sound source device 1 via an MIDI interface 15. The sequencer 2 stores automatic playing data consisting of event data and transmits event data to the sound source device 1 as MIDI data. The operation of the sound source 1 is controlled by a CPU 10, with which an ROM 11, an RAM 12, panel operating pieces 13, a display 14 and the MIDI interface, etc., are connected. A control program and a parameter number table are stored in the ROM 11. Then, one parameter is selected from plural parameters controlling the operations of a CPU' self and then the parameter is displayed with the prescribed format. |
