PURPOSE: To provide a light source for measuring transmission characteristics with a high side mode suppression ratio without any polarization state and with a stable light output. CONSTITUTION: A non-polarized natural emission light generated inside an erbium-doped optical fiber 21 due to excitation light outputted from an excitation laser diode 24 enters an optical filter 28 for extracting light with a desired wavelength via a photoisolator 26 and a photocoupler 27. The natural emission light with a desired wavelength is directly amplified by an Erupium-doped optical fiber 31 by a reflector 34, passes through the Erupium-doped optical fiber 31 again, and then passes through the optical filter 28 again, thus transmitting a non-polarized light with a high side mode suppression ration to optical parts as a light signal 30 for measuring transmission characteristics via the photocoupler 27. |
