<p>PURPOSE: To improve the general purpose applicability of a position detector by forming plural patterns by relating the necessary detecting positions of a mechanism with the coded signals formed of plural patterns. CONSTITUTION: Of plural patterns of the pattern disk 3 of a position detector 1, the number of patterns used selectively is reduced. At the same time, in compliance with the reduction of the using patterns, the number of contacts of a movable contact 4 is also reduced. As a result, when the number of the necessary detecting positions in a mechanism is reduced, the coded signal of one necessary detecting position in the mechanism, or the coded signals of the neighboring detecting positions of this position, including the one necessary detecting position, are formed in the coded signals different from the coded signals at the other necessary detecting positions. Consequently, the mechanism of an apparatus having many necessary detecting positions is used together with an apparatus having fewer necessary detecting positions. Even when the detector 1 is used commonly, the necessary detecting positions of the mechanism made unnecessary by reducing the number of pattern using the detector 1 are not detected, and the necessary detecting positions can be detected accurately, so as to improve the general purpose applicability of the detector 1.</p> |
