PURPOSE: To provide a method for very accurately separating and peeling at least one layer of the coats of a conductor, in the state of a very thin and soft cable. CONSTITUTION: A tip part of a conductor to be worked is clamped behind a conductor tip part section 5 to be maintained in an axial direction. Next, a scanner which is movable in a longitudinal direction with respect to the free tip of the section 5 is used for positioning the free tip of the section 5 and next, cutting edges 12 and 13 are cut into the conductor tip part and advanced by a length X, corresponding to an insulator peeling length to be in contact with the section 5 to provide a cut at a requested layer. Afterwards, the edges are used for pushing the separated layer towards a terminal, and this separating and insulating material peeling process is repeated as necessary, with stepwise cut depths once or plural times. |
