PURPOSE: To supply an ample amount of lubricating oil to specified position(s) of an oil seal by providing an inclined inner surface inside a retainer which is installed on the side face of a cylinder block and where oil seal is located in a through hole, wherein the inner surface is inclining toward the oil seal from the peripheral surface of a recess provided in a bearing part. CONSTITUTION: A crankshaft 11 is provided with a major diametric portion 11c which is formed in a single piece with the crankshaft and penetrates a retainer 14 installed on the side face of a cylinder block 12, and a flywheel is furnished adjacent to this major diametric portion 11c. An oil seal 16 contacting with the peripheral surface of the portion 11c is furnished in a through hole provided in the retainer 14. Inside the retainer 14, an inclined inner surface 14a is provided which inclines aslant to the oil seal 16 from the peripheral surface 13a' of a recess 13a provided in a bearing part 13. Thereby the lubricating oil splashed by the centrifugal force of the crankshaft 11 and intruded into the recess 13a can be sent to the inclined inner surface 14a from the peripheral surface 13a' of the recess 13a to be forwarded to specified position(s) of the oil seal 16. |
