PURPOSE: To eject recording paper after smoothly carrying one recording paper by providing a guiding member successively guiding the recording paper which is immediately separated by a recording paper separating member provided near the nip of a thermal fixing roller and the paper ejecting position of a pressing roller in a paper ejecting direction in a fixing device. CONSTITUTION: This image forming device is provided with a fixing roller 233 having a heat resistant elastic layer and a press-contacting roller 231 press- contacting with the fixing roller; and provided with a separation pawl 24 which forms a nip part and allows a sheet P to pass between the fixing roller and the press-contacting roller, by which the sheet is ejected in a direction where it is separated from the roller 233 side by the action of the roller 231 at the nip part, and which is arranged on the downstream side of the roller 231 and comes in contact with the roller 231 to separate the sheet, and the guiding member 25 arranged on an opposite side to the nip part and guiding the sheet to the downstream side. Then, an angleθformed by the tip of the separation pawl and the center of the nip part to the center of the press-contacting roller is set to <=28 deg. in the fixing device.
