PURPOSE: To provide such a carrier member for a transfer material and an image forming device that no deposition of oil is caused even for both-sided copying and that fusing of a toner or cleaning defects are hardly caused. CONSTITUTION: In this carrier member for a transfer material used for an image forming device, the surface roughness of the transfer face satisfies 0.3<=Rp<=4.0 and 300<=D<=700, wherein Rp (μm) is the peak height on the center line and D (μm) is the average interval of peaks in the range of Rp.
