PURPOSE: To provide a power-system stabilizer, in which a stabilizing constant is changed into another pattern or the stabilizer is excluded in poser system when the use thereof is not effective, by calculating an intrinsic value on the basis of data of system construction and operational state. CONSTITUTION: In a power system 1, components, such as a generator, a power transmission line and a load, are expressed by a linear equation on the basis of on-line system constitution and system operation when these data are inputted through a system information fetching means 11. An eigenvalue in a selected mode to be stabilized by the power-system stabilizer (MVC) is calculated in an eigenvalue calculation means 12. In addition, whether the power-system stabilizer (MVC) should be used or not is judged from effectiveness calculated by an effectiveness judging means 13. The power-system stabilizer (MVC) is used only when the stabilizer (MVC) is judged to be effective by the MVC exclusion means 14, while the stabilizer (MVC) is not used when it is not effective. In this way, the stabilizer (MVC) is reliabile in the power-system. |
