PURPOSE: To provide a one-component developing device capable of forming a uniform developer layer over a long time even though a developer thin layer forming member is small in size and keeping an excellent developing operation state over a long period even though the device is small in size. CONSTITUTION: In a toner thin layer forming blade 45 consisting of a leaf spring member 45a whose one end is held by a developing device main body side and a projection 45b attached to the free end side of the leaf spring member and being in press-contact with a developing roller 43 by the elastic force of the leaf spring member 45a and forming the thin layer of a one-component developer (toner) T on the surface of the developing roller 43, the leaf spring member 45a is set so as to satisfy the relation expressed by 5<=L<=15 and 50<=L/H<100 when length from a supporting end on the developing device main body side to the contact part of the projection 45b with the developing roller 43 is defined as L (mm) and the thickness of the leaf spring member 45a is defined as H (mm). |
