PURPOSE: To decode a moving image in real time by inputting a Huffman encoded code to a Huffman encoder/decoder while keeping its transmission rate as it is, decoding a coefficient and transforming that coefficient to the time base of a signal processing system at a buffer for reception. CONSTITUTION: The transmission part of the image compression transmission system is composed of a scanning converter 1, hybrid encoding part 2, entropy encoder 4 and buffer 6 for transmission, the reception part of the image compression transmission system is composed of an entropy code decoder 12, buffer 14 for reception, hybrid decoding part 11 and inverse scanning converter 10, and an image signal is reproduced by processing and decoding a code transmitted from the transmission part according to the order of this configuration. Namely, concerning the entropy encoded code transmitted through a transmission line 9, entropy code decoding is performed at the speed corresponding to the transmission rate and afterwards, that decoded coefficient is stored in the buffer for reception, transformed to the time base at the speed corresponding to the signal processing rate of the signal processing system of the poststage and outputted. |
