PURPOSE: To appropriately check the remaining quantity of a battery at every type of batteries by switching a parameter at a battery checking operation based on information from a battery type discriminating means. CONSTITUTION: Plural different types of batteries can be connected by a battery connecting means 1. And the type of the loaded battery is discriminated by the battery type discriminating means 2, and a checking processing whether or not the remaining quantity of the battery as for each discriminated battery is enough for use is performed by a battery checking part(BC) 3. And a level of a voltage disturbing the operational function of the camera(BC level) is compared with the voltage level of the loaded battery by the BC part 3 through the battery connecting means 1, and in the case the battery voltage level is higher than the BC level, normal operation information is sent to a camera operation control means 4. On the other hand, in the case the voltage level is equal to or below the BC level, operation standstill information is sent to the camera operation control part 4.
