ARC JET ACCELERATOR

摘要

PURPOSE: To elongate life of a cathode by softening an acute angle of a leading end of the cathode and increasing a diameter. CONSTITUTION: In an arc jet accelerator, a leading end of a cathode rod 3 is arranged in the vicinity of an injection port 2a of a nozzle 2 composing an anode. Arc discharging is performed between the nozzle 2 and the leading end of the cathode rod 3. Accelerating agent is supplied into the arc discharge field to obtain acceleration force. A leading end of the cathode rod 3 has a spherical shape having a diemter ranging between 0.3mm and 1.0mm.
