PURPOSE: To ensure reliability and operation characteristics high enough to operate a pump through simple circuit constitution. CONSTITUTION: In an inverter unit used in a pump driven by a motor, an inverter unit 54 comprises a converter part 64 to rectify a three-phase commercial source power to a direct current; and an inverter part 66 to generate an AC power, having an arbitrary frequency and an arbitrary voltage, from the DC generated by the converter part. The AC power having an arbitrary frequency and an arbitrary voltage generated by the inverter according to a command from a control device 68 feeds a three-phase power of a given phase to a motor 1 regardless of the phase connections R, S, and T of a commercial source.
