PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vending machine capable of executing the storage and automatic distribution of magnetic or optical disks. SOLUTION: A user interface allows the user to select a desired disk and to enter a distribution request and includes a means that receives user identification information such as credit card information stored magnetically on a bank card, a driver's licence or a library card or the like. When selection of a disk is entered and the user identification information is received and confirmed, the selected disk is distributed. The machine is provided with a means 304 that writes information relating to the processing to a part of a magnetic recording medium on one side of each disk.
