PURPOSE: To quickly execute operation for a determinant of a higher degree by determining conversion coefficients of a determinant as specific operation values in a table for determining the operation results of a determinant considering three primary color input data C, M, Y up to a higher degree. CONSTITUTION: A table part 15 in a color correcting device 1 previously stores a determinant (MWA) 16, other color correcting parameters 17 and tone reproducing characteristics (TRC) 18. At the time of starting the device 1, a look-up table (LUT) 19 including a table 21 for partial operation results generated from the MWA 16 is prepared. When it is defined that the gradation (s) of a color is set up as 0<=s<k, the degree (i) of a determinant is 1<=i<=n, and the conversion coefficientsα,β,γof the determinant areαC,βC,γC for cyan,αM,βM,γM for magenta andαY,βY,γY for yellow, the partial operation result are respective operation valuesΣαCi s<i> +αC,ΣαMi s<i> ,ΣαYis<i> ,ΣβCi s<i> ,ΣβMi s<i> +βM,ΣβYi s<i> ,ΣγCi s<i> ,ΣγMi s<i> , andΣγYi s<i> +γY.
