PURPOSE: To prevent the degradation of displayed picture quality by making the occurrence of pseudo image generated on an animation of PDP inconspicuous and to reduce the loss of a display period by making an address rational. CONSTITUTION: One frame period is divided into display periods SF(1)-SF(6) of bit numbers 6, one field period of pixels of an odd numbered line and an even numbered line is divided into sub-field periods SF1-SF6 of bit numbers 6. Each SF(1)-SF(2) is divided into IP, the first half of an address, the latter half of an address, a display period APa, SPa, APb, and SPb, and pseudo image generated on an animation is canceled by making the order of display of SF1-SF6 inverse depending on the odd numbered line and the even numbered line. In the first half of SF(1)-SF(3), pixels of the even numbered line having larger bit number are addressed and the number of displayed pulses difference (in SF(2), '4') are displayed, in the latter half, pixels of the odd numbered line having smaller bit number are addressed and the number of displayed pulses (in SF(2), '4') are displayed, are addressing is made rational. The same way is performed in SF(4)-SF(6) also. |
