PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a problem such as a non-uniform liquid distribution or the like by a method wherein each of vapor and liquid is flowed through a first passage and a second passage to make a parallel flow relation, and the liquid is evaporated through an indirect heat exchanging operation with the vapor while they are flowed in their parallel flow relation, SOLUTION: Vapor, gaseous nitrogen, for example, is fed into a first passage 21 at a lower location 29 than that of a slant sealing bar 26 and a slot 27 where the superior distributed liquid is transferred from a first passage 21 to a second passage 22. Each of vapor and liquid passes through the first passage 21 and the second passage 22 and flows down in their parallel flow relation, the vapor is condensed within the first passage 21 under an indirect heat exchanging operation between the vapor and the liquid, and the liquid is evaporated within the second passage 22. This section in the heat exchanger where both fluids flow in their parallel flow relation is a heat exchanging section and it is preferable that same longitudinal extending fins are arranged within each of the passages 21, 22 so as to assist a heat conduction. Then, both fluids are flowed out as indicated by arrows 30 and 31.
