PURPOSE: To efficiently manufacture a hydrogen storage alloy electrode maintaining the shape for improving the packing density and having little nonuniform distortion by heating the hydrogen storage alloy powder while moving a heating furnace. CONSTITUTION: A base A mounted with an electric furnace 1 is vibrated and moved together with the electric furnace 1 by a vibrating board provided on a base B. The hydrogen storage alloy powder having a spherical, bulletlike, or oval shape and stored in the container 2 of the electric furnace 1 is heat- treated without being sintered. A hydrogen storage alloy electrode maintaining the shape for improving the packing density, having little nonuniform distortion, and improving the cycle characteristic of an alkaline storage battery can be efficiently manufactured. |
