PURPOSE: To quickly obtain map information (and road information) required based on a district name. CONSTITUTION: An FM multiplex broadcast signal on which at least FM multiplex data are multiplexed is received and the FM multiplex data in the received FM multiplex broadcast signal are stored tentatively in an internal memory 8 and part of the FM multiplex data stored in the internal memory 8 is selectively displayed on a display section 10. A district name list representing district names belonging to an area map is stored in the internal memory 8 in cross reference with a mesh code with respect to each are a map designated by the mesh code in the FM multiplex data and when at least one district is selected in the area name list and the mesh code having the selected area is received, the area information designated by the mesh code is automatically displayed on a display section 10. |
