PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate the efficient method for a time or a cost with respect to file transmission by deciding information for transmission of a data file selected by a selected transmitter and displaying decided information. SOLUTION: A specific transmitter, e.g. a cellular telephone 16 or a public exchange telephone network 20 is selected, a mouse is clicked on a run area in an application panel so as to start a MODEM 14 for a selected data file and a communication application program controlling the transmission via a selected transmitter. In this communication system 10, a run module continues updating diagnostic information to monitor a communication process as to a transmission real time and a transmitted data quantity. A communication evaluation program receives a signal generated from a personal computer 12, the MODEM 14 and a selected external communication equipment. The signal is used by a diagnostic function of the run module to display some sets of the diagnostic information.
