The method involves using a measuring element (11), power amplifier (16) and negative feedback transformer (20) grouped in a closed loop with a calibrating capacitor (Co). The loop is supplied with alternating potential developed by a processing circuit (14). The measurement signal (Ve) and feedback from the output signal (Vs') are applied to the processor (14), which computes error. The processor executes a program to compute error coefficients by projecting an error on the phase and quadrature components of the measurement signal (Ve). The projected values are integrated using the synchronous detection method, and the feedback process is repeated until convergence is achieved.
