PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a sprayer for an atomic absorption apparatus combined with a capillary assembly which includes a capillary holder having an axial flow passage passing through the interior and a capillary tip made of sapphire attached to one end. SOLUTION: One end of a body assembly 24 of a sprayer is connected to a Venturi member 28 and a capillary assembly 12 is assembled to the body assembly 24 so as to be axially movable. Thereby, a capillary holder 14 is partially inserted into the inlet part 31 of the Venturi member, and further, a capillary tip 16 is inserted into a narrow part 54 of the Venturi. Compressed oxidant is supplied to the Venturi member from the vicinity of the capillary tip, sample solution is sucked out from the capillary tip and the mixture is sprayed.
