A process for the production of series-produced valves used in heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems

The valve housing is made from a casting blank of spheroidal cast-iron which has a throttle body opening (3) with ring groove (9) open on the end side. A welding bead of a high-grade alloy austenitic coating material is inserted in the ring groove without any previous stock-removing work on the casting surface during the welding process. The valve seat is made in a fixing device by stock removing and shaping the bead. The casting blank undergoes finishing work and finally the servo rod (4) with throttle body and lid are then assembled. Laser welding can be used.
