The invention provides a method of hydraulic stamping which does not require the use of a powerful machine. The method comprises using a stationary deformation punch (3), a die (5), movable blank holders (10) and a stationary piston (4) about which the movable die (5) is slidingly mounted. The volume of counter-pressure water is thereby held constant. The counter pressure load is conveyed to the stationary piston (4). The method is suitable for stamping metal parts.
