A method for sintering fly ash of incinerated municipal waste comprising the steps of adding water, carbon, and binder to fly ash of incinerated municipal waste discharged from a municipal waste incineration facility; kneading the mixture into raw pellets; and holding these raw pellets at a high temperature for a predetermined time. Five or less weight percent carbon is added to 75 or more weight percent fly ash of incinerated municipal waste. An equipment for sintering fly ash of incinerated municipal waste is provided with electric heating means (5c), (7c) in either one or both interior of a drying and preheating chamber (3), ignition chamber (4), and sintering chamber (5) and the interior of a duct (7).
