PURPOSE: To display the course to be taken at an intersection accurately, by providing an intersection data storage means, a course operation means, and a display control means. CONSTITUTION: An external memory 12 grasps and makes an intersection data storage means function, while a CPU 1 grasps and makes a course operation means and a display control means function. An enlarged figure of the intersection is displayed on a part of a road map to show the advancing direction of a vehicle just on the upper side of the picture and by displaying the course thereon (by painting the road in a black color), the approach path to the intersection is grasped intuitively. While the enlarged figure of the intersection is displayed on a part of the road map plane, the road nets at the intersection are displayed by arrows, so as to show the escape routes in the intersection clearly. While the enlarged figure of the intersection is displayed in a bird's eye view on a part of the road map plane, the course is displayed in the enlarged figure of the intersection, so as to show the approach path in the passing intersection clearly. |
