PURPOSE: To always obtain a precise distance to an object even though the focusing distance or the diaphragm value of a photographing optical system. CONSTITUTION: One of two distance measuring means 11, 12 having different types, which can measure a distance over a wider range is selected in accordance with a selecting means 18 for selecting either one of the two distance measuring means 11, 12, and the convergence angle of a photographing system is adjusted with the use of data concerning a distance to an object, which is measured by the selected distance measuring means, thereby it is, possible to precise measure a distance to an object in a range which is wider than that made by only one of the two distance measuring means. |
