PURPOSE: To provide a development processing method forming an image having good reversal letter quality by using a stable developing solution having a pH of <=11.0. CONSTITUTION: The photosensitive material having on a support at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer comprising silver halide grains having an average grain diameter of <0.2μm pre and a silver chloride content of >=90mol% 96 is exposed and developed while replenishing the developing solution, and this development initiating solution and development replenishing solution contains a dihydroxybenzene type developing agent and a superadditive assistant developing agent and they are reduced to a pH rise of <=0.25, when sodium hydroxide is added in an amount of 0.1mol per 1l of them, and the initiating solution has a pH of 9.5-11.0 and a replenishing solution has a feed rate of <=225mlm<2> .
