<p>An unsaturated nitrile-conjugated diene copolymer which is produced by copolymerizing the co-monomers in the presence of a free-radical initiator by using a molecular weight modifier comprising a C12-C16 alkylthiol compound having at least three tertiary carbon atoms and a sulfur atom directly bonded to at least one of the tertiary carbon atoms and which has a Mooney viscosity of 15 to 150, a bonded unsaturated nitrile content of 10 to 60 wt.% and an unsaturated nitrile composition distribution width (ΔAN) of 3 to 20. The copolymer is produced by starting the copolymerization in the presence of part of the copolymers and adding the rest of the comonomers in the course of the reaction. It is used in combination with a sulfur-base vulcanizer.</p> |
